I don’t say any of that to come off like an expert (because I don’t even believe there’s such a thing as a relationship expert) but I want it to be clear that I’m fully aware of the explosiveness of this conversation and the one thing I’ve learned is that interracial dating conjures up a world of emotions and insecurities, no matter how hard we all try to act like we are “post-racial” and unconcerned with it.

So, whether you’re years deep in a charmingly fairy tale-esque romance with your beau or you’re just now firing up to dive into your first, here are seven things to remember as a white person involved with a person of color.

What makes this event stand out from all the other relationship-focused events is that we believe the more gritty the conversation gets, the more hilarious it will become, so we encourage everyone to keep it 100, instead of just keeping it polite or politically correct.

But since we’ve begun doing this show, there is one topic that we try and steer clear from – interracial dating.

With this being said there are certain parts of the world such as the US in which American customs have somewhat worked to relax the Mexican dating rules.

However, there are still a lot of Mexican people in Mexico as well as in the US that still expect their customs to be followed.
